I first learned to sail on sunfish as a kid at summer camp. I was immediately hooked, and have wanted to get more into the sport my whole life. One of my longtime dreams has been to do long term live-aboard cruising. In high school I bought a Hobie 14 off craigslist with money I had saved, and my dad was crazy enough to let me do it (and park it in our driveway). We would haul it down to the Jersey Shore each summer and I would try to figure it out. I had a long hiatus from sailing from college onward, but during the pandemic I joined Hudson River Community Sailing in NYC and got back into it fairly seriously. I also took some courses in coastal cruising and was able to do my first bareboat charter in Croatia in Fall 2021. Here are some links/resources I’ve saved along the way.
